Clyst Vale Students Win National Award
A group of our students have won this year’s prestigious Amnesty International Marsh Award.
The award, of £500, has been granted to the school’s Amnesty International Youth Group for the best campaign plans in the country.
Student, Ellen Blacker, 15, travelled to Amnesty’s Annual Conference at Nottingham University where she received the award from Amnesty’s community organiser, Catherine Odykoya and Peter Titley of the Marsh Christian Trust.
English teacher, Ms Watt, who runs the Amnesty group, said:
“We are planning to use the money for a special awareness day for pupils from our seven feeder primary schools so they can learn about the important work Amnesty do to protect human rights around the world.
We’re delighted to win this award, which is recognition for the great campaigning work our Amnesty students have done.”
