Washington Trip a Treat
During the October half term holiday a group of 15 students took part in a trip to Washington DC. We were able to visit the White House, the US Supreme Court and the Pentagon. On our trip to Capitol Hill we were given a fantastic tour of the whole building, and were able to sit in the public gallery and listen to debates in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. We were there at a very important moment in time, as Rep Paul Ryan was voted in as Speaker of the House to replace Rep John Boehner on the day of our visit. We also visited the Smithsonian Museum and saw all of the amazing monuments in this beautiful city. It was a fantastic tour, and the students involved were superb ambassadors for Clyst Vale.
The students involved were Ionie Adams, Kellie Ayres, Max Branson, Zoe Carpenter, Rory Davis, Lucy de Souza, Bethan Hellier, Josh Holland, Kate Latham, Mitch Pearce, James Royle, Jack Searle, Katherine Stagg, Josh Stanton-Granger and Charlie Vicente.
Thank you as well to Mrs Bowen and Mr O’Brien who gave up their half term break to join me in leading the tour.
