Cavanna Homes Enterprise Gifted and Talented Challenge Day!
On Friday 8th May, 50 Gifted and Talented Key Stage Three students took part in a property challenge day. Students worked in mixed teams and took on different roles: project manager, surveyor, architect, marketing director and finance director.
Groups created their own companies and produced layouts for houses and roads; complete accounts; information about internal features; advertisement materials; a tender letter and, finally, presented their project to the rest of the group and four judges! Outside visitors shared their knowledge, worked alongside the teams and judged the final – the winning team called themselves “Palmer Homes”. This team will go ahead to compete against four other schools in a final later this year.
It was a great day that provided a huge amount of challenge as teams worked across age groups, and drew together different academic skills. One student said: “There were times in the day when I just thought we would never be able to finish, but we worked together and by the end, we’d created something we were really proud of.”
