Giraffe House Gets a Colourful New Look!
Clyst Vale’s ‘Giraffe House’ has a colourful new look with the addition of three hundred flags created by students during a whole College enrichment day. The project involved students working together in classes made up from different year groups. Within the lesson students looked at different cultures and belief systems which use the idea of communicating ideas and wishes through objects, from Tibetan prayer flags to Cornish ‘clooties’. Our students were then asked to consider one wish they had for the world, ranging from personal to global ideas for change. These wishes were then translated by our students into visual representations on their flags.
The Giraffe House display not only has fantastic visual impact but also gives an insight perhaps into the hopes and dreams of the students who made them.
