Drama Workshop Success

The drama studio was truly brought alive with excitement during periods 1-4 on Thursday 15 January as selected Year 7 and 8 students participated in a devising theatre workshop led by theatre practitioner Erin Walcon (from Devon Youth Theatre/Exeter University).

The group explored a variety of approaches and styles to devising drama, playing with realistic character development and experimenting with physical theatre and Greek chorus. The four hours passed quickly and Erin and the visiting Exeter university students were impressed with our students originality, enthusiasm and passion.

Focus is now on developing the work further in order to create short original pieces of drama to perform at the RAWW Outreach Festival showcase at the Northcott Theatre in February.
